Today, the 2009 Holiday Giveaways get techie.

So far, we’ve seen kid products, lovely prints and beautiful paper goods. But this giveaway takes a turn for the practical.
Most of us out here in the online world have the conceptual side covered – we know what we want to write, display and communicate. But most of us also have very little skill when it comes to actually setting up and maintaining our sites.
I bet that some of you are thinking of updating your blog template. And some of you are considering a move from Blogger to WordPress. And what about those of you who are continuously frustrated by reports that it takes your site forever to load?
Well MommyGeek of Geekalicious – Rent a Geek Mom can help!

Friendly and easy to work with, she is a blogger herself and has been through it all with her own websites. She can do all manner of geeky things and chances are – if you need it, she does it.
Her 2009 Holiday Giveaway is $150 in services.
Now that you’re finished jumping up and down screaming “ME! PICK ME!” go directly to As Good As Cake to enter!
Today’s As Good As Cake Holiday Giveaway comes from another one of my favorite artist-bloggers.
Anne Harwell of Annechovie is by far one of the loveliest people I’ve had the honor to meet online.
Her paintings and prints just make me smile – the bold colors would brighten the dreariest of rooms.
Here are a few of my favorite images:

Her 2009 Holiday Giveaway on As Good As Cake will be a Keep Calm and Carry On quote in your choice of the following four colors (aqua, pink, chocolate and china blue):

One of my all time favorite blogger-artists is sponsoring the giveaway at As Good As Cake today. Patricia of pve design has a striking style that would appeal to pretty much anyone.
I spent a lot of time perusing her blog for images to use and ended up with far too many to feature in the giveaway. So here are some overflow pictures:
Make sure to check out her giveaway for note cards and a notebook…

…HERE!
It’s Day One of the 2009 Holiday Giveaways series that I’m hosting on my As Good As Cake review page.
And the first prize comes from Cattiwampus, a mother-daughter run online shop offering unique (and adorable) finds for kids. They sell everything from clothes to toys and room decor.

Some of my favorite resources for holiday shopping are the online stores of indie designers and artists and small companies.
With our modern day mall-centric lifestyle, it has become increasingly difficult to find truly unique gifts.
Now don’t get me wrong…I’m not knocking the mall. I will never say no to a day of power shopping at the outlets or an afternoon of strolling through patches of skylight sunbeams as I skip in and out of Banana Republic, J. Crew and Anthropologie. And I would by a liar if I claimed to eschew Target. I love Target! (What? I’m a suburban stay at home mom…loving Target is clearly stated in the contract we have to sign.)
BUT more than any of that retail bliss, I love finding a little Etsy shop that feeds my soul with talent and creativity. I LOVE knowing that I own something that’s one of a kind – or one of a few. And I am over the moon to think that I helped boost the business of a small time artist, designer or small business owner.
So I thought I’d try to do just that this holiday season by hosting daily giveaways for the little guy.
I want to help generate business for the people who really need it in this sucky economy.
And I would like to combine that with some free stuff for my readers. Just a thank you for coming by and listening to what I have to say. A little holiday gift from me to you.
These giveaways will be open to anyone. Anyone (but me) can enter. And I still have open spots for new to me artists/designers/companies who would like to do a giveaway (if that’s you, e-mail me at bigpieceofcake@gmail.com).
I’ll offer extra entries for spreading the word through Facebook, Twitter, blog posts and anything else you can do to drive traffic to these vendors and their holiday gift resource goodness.
Here are a few of my favorites that have already confirmed:
Others include jewelry, toys and home products.
All giveaways will be open for two weeks, so you’ll have plenty of time to check in and enter any that you may have missed.
BUT because we’re all busy, I thought I’d offer an easy way to make sure you get at least one entry for all of the giveaways. Post the button below on your sidebar, and you will be automatically entered for each and every one.
Oh yeah – that’s right. I’ll be hosting these on a new giveaways and reviews page, As Good As Cake Reviews and Giveaways. All will be linked to The Big Piece of Cake, but full details will be on the new site. Feel free to check it out. There isn’t anything on it yet, but how about that super cute header? I did that myself via cut/paste and Photobucket. Just goes to show, you can do pretty much anything online with zero html training and limited design talent. At least that’s been my experience.
Anyway – send me an e-mail (bigpieceofcake@gmail.com) if you post the button or have any questions. I’m closing comments on this one so there is no confusion about where to comment for entries.
Check back tomorrow (Tuesday) for the first giveaway. And start spreading the word. Or better yet – promote some little guys on your own sites. I’ll be happy to link you up here. Let’s help send them as much sales traffic as we can this holiday season.
Because they really need the money for their own holiday shopping at J. Crew and Anthropologie. (Kidding!)
Here is one color that I never expected to love for home interiors: bright red.

I usually gravitate to blues and greens. Pale yellow is my neutral of choice. I have fairly traditional taste, and bright pops of color have only just started to sneak into my decorating fantasies…

It’s probably the hint of orange that gives this hue a very classic feel. The shiny enamel effect says chinoiserie to me. It looks rich. And it would easily fit in with my current design aesthetic if paired with the right design.

Okay – so that last one is a little out there for me. But I do like it…expanding my horizons maybe?
