Okay – so I seem to have a lot to say for someone who is supposed to be avoiding the Internet… But that will go into full effect tomorrow when I get to work. In the meantime, I HAVE to post a few pictures.
My youngest son, George has been needing a haircut for a while. I gave him one myself a few weeks ago and it was pretty sad looking. So today we decided to let the professionals fix my mistakes. And Chris was in charge of taking George since he was in need of a haircut himself.
This is what my baby looked like pre-haircut:

This is what he looks like now:

Oh my goodness. This is hilarious. This is what J looks like when his dad takes him. Of course, when I last took him, he looked like Zach from Saved by the Bell. It’s called “the time Mom got me a mushroom haircut” around here. I think George is ADORABLE. Try not to kill Chris.
I’m thinking you two didn’t discuss the buzz cut prior?
Gremlin ended up just this way last week. Apparently, the hairdresser and I had a communication failure. On the postive side, this is a truly zero maintenance hairstyle.
Wow – he looks like a different, older kid! But he doesn’t look bad Kate, just different. Still adorable!
Good luck Chris!
I like he looks cute! I like boys with a buzz cut. It’ll grow Mama… it’ll grow…
Okay, laughing a little, sorry, he is so cute. It will grow. I swear it will. My husband had done this to our boys a few times and it honestly came back so fast that I was almost (almost, I said) glad.
Justifiable homicide. 100%.
(He looks totally adorable, but STILL. I would have killed my husband dead!!!)
What is it with men and buzz cuts?
I actually love the fact that my hubby has made me PROMISE never to cut my little guys hair too short—he hates that on little boys…
It’ll grow so fast! (thank goodness). It sure makes him look older, doesn’t it? Still totally cute, though!
LOL!!!!
My husband has done the same EXACT thing with both boys at different time and I felt the same way you do.
It grows back. :)
Oh, he’s absolutely adorable. Even with the super short cut. But, really, couldn’t you have done that at home?
Don’t worry, it’ll grow back. So your husband can come back from Mexico in what? Two? Three months?
What did he do to the baby’s hair?! Yes, he’s adorable, but Mommy must be consulted first.
Oh my gosh, he is so cute. I would kill my husband if he did that.
Oh man does this bring back very bad memories. In my case it was my first-born, and I was so against getting his first haircut that I ended up asking a friend’s nanny (who I knew well) who’d actually been a hairdresser in a previous life to do it. She started snipping away and I nearly fainted. When it was over his hair was even shorter than your son’s. In retrospect, having someone who doesn’t speak any language you do give your son his first haircut is probably a mistake…
Here via BlogNosh. As the mother of my own quirky five year old enigma your post touched my heart. I’ll definitely be back to read more.
I just came from Blog Nosh magazine… loved hearing all about your boy. My daughter and I both have SPD – I’m an over-sensitive and she is a sensory-seeker. And yes, I believe that God has a tremendous sense of humor. Ha Ha. Can’t you just hear me laughing? :)
So they went with the Nazi Youth style? Nice.
He’s still adorable.
My hubby did this a few months ago to our son….in the dead of winter in UTAH! The boy has been freezing for months now!
He still looks super cute!
He looks really cute with both hair cuts!!! My boys always have buzz cuts b/c their hair grows too darn fast. I use a little funky spiker gel and spike it up.
Much love from NJ,
Sue
xoxo
note to self, don’t ever let my husband take my daughters for hair cuts, EVER.
I have to admit he does look cute!
He’s so cute!!
I once got Ben’s hair cut shorter than this. Never again. I like the shaggy do myself.
He looks adorable! Seriously – the buzz cut is cute on little guys:)
oh but he’s still so cute, i love his camera faces! and yes i would want to kill my husband too :)
Oooohhhh, poor little Georgie!!! He looks like Junior GI Joe about to go on jungle maneuvers. One thing I do know well, hair does grow back. Patience.
Congratulations on being chosen for the blog magazine!!!
Love you.
J.R. did this to Noah once. I sent the picture to my mother with the caption “I’m taking my binky to boot camp.” He totally looked ready to put on his boots and ship out.
J.R. has not since, and likely will never again, go unchaperoned with the children for a haircut.
I think he looks cute!
it’ll grow back mama :)
But yeah, this is why I don’t let my husband go to the barber shop without me…
good thing he is SO HANDSOME :)
You kill me! It’s OK…it’ll grow back and he’s still adorable:)
Yeah, he’d be so dead if he were my husband, too. But of course, George looks adorable and a change is always good. My husband has recently suggested giving short hair a try for my boys… I’m hyperventilating just thinking about it.
