George’s Hair: Kickin’ It Old School

So a quick update on George’s hair. You may remember that Chris ruined it a couple of months ago.

It’s growing… But it looks very strange.

I think he looks like an 80s rocker.

Spiky on top. Fringy in the back.

The other day on the commute home, we were listening to an 80s rock block: Paradise City, You Make All My Dreams Come True, and then Some Guys Have All the Luck.

I looked back at George and thought, “that’s it! You are SO on your way to being Rod Stewart.

Some Guys Have All the Luck…

He’s got at ways to go before he achieves Rod’s signature look though… His transitional ‘do is probably closer to what these guys sported in their debut album days:

Of course, this isn’t so bad when you consider some of the alternatives.

On top of his 80s rocker hair, he’s skinny and pale. Remember this shot?

Chris made the rather unkind observation that he looked like a heroin addict with his shaved head, ghastly pallor and general boniness.

Great – so my baby looks like one of those lily-white losers from Trainspotting?

But I must say – the similarity between those two shaved heads is pretty dead on. And George does have this habit of sticking his whole head in the toilet when he flushes (you know – to get the best view).

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, but I’m fairly sure that Ewen didn’t yell, “bye poopies!” in that famous scene. And George’s hair isn’t that short anymore… Oh well, I didn’t say it was an exact likeness.

That's great! I love the spiky hair.

My oldest son had the craziest hair when he was about a year old, almost every single hair on his head stuck straight up for months. It was hilarious. I almost miss that look!

Oh, but Simon LeBon wasn't too bad!

    :)

My youngest son's hair grows with a circular spike at his crown, and the longer it gets, the more he starts to look like Wolverine. He doesn't mind, but I spend a lot of fruitless time trying to swipe it down.

Holy cow. I'm rolling here at my desk. He's a total 80s rocker!!

My momma was brave enough once to let Chris shave my youngest brother's hair because Luk wanted so much to look like Chris. Enter clippers, exit respectable hair do! Lukas looked JUST LIKE George. Seeing him brings back so many memories! Momma threatened Chris and Luk thought he was so awesome. :)

That was probably 5 years ago and Luk wants Chris to cut his hair again…Momma still refuses.

    80s hair bands…good times.

    His spikey hair is adorable!

If he was a girl, his hair style would be ala Kate Gosselin. ;-)

This post is one of my favorites. Seriously, hilarious and oh so creative. Thank you for the laughs, George! (and his mommy too, thank you)

I love his hair! At least he's not a girl – it would look like he's emulating Kate from Jon and Kate, and THAT would be much worse.

He's too cute for words. And your memory of scenes from movies you haven't seen in ages really impresses me. I forget movies as soon as I see them. Always have – so I can't blame THAT on mommy brain…

That trainspotting movies freaked me the fuck out. Especially the dead baby. The toilet scene was just disgusting.

So…. it seems that I am NEVER going to be forgiven for Georges new do. FYI-somebody said something about a fauxhawk and Kate gave George one last night. Super cool. I'm going to gel that boys hair into one every chance I get now.

He's a total rocker! It's a little funny – but really also totally adorable.

(I have to admit that picture of Duran Duran made my heart go pitter-pat a little bit…)

Actually…from the back he looks like Kate Gosselin.

He is such a cutie no matter what his hair is doing!

It looks cute on him. Bunny rocked the faux-hawk for a while when she was a wee one, it was fabulous.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. What were we thinking back then?
