And the Award for Cutest Blog Design Ever Goes To…

I just came across this new blog today and I’m IN LOVE with the header:

Since I have a bit of a thing for chinoisserie and Asian inspired design, I couldn’t help but find myself smitten with that little pagoda.

Also, Tessa of Pagoda Press recently posted a great pink inspiration board in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, the cause is very close to my heart. Just had my annual mammogram last month. Have you scheduled yours?

If you are as taken with that little pagoda as I am, follow Tessa via Google (see her side bar for the link). Then e-mail her and she’ll send you a little 3×3 magnet for the follow!

I’m sorely behind (like a month or two) in my design blog reading, but I’m definitely adding Pagoda Press to my list. Can’t wait to get my magnet (next, I may demand a line of letterpress stationery…)

Best Vineyard Website EVER

I can’t remember where I found this link… But Swanson Vineyards has the most creative, charming website I’ve ever seen. Wine, family owned businesses, wine, chic in the know people, wine… It’s all there and wrapped up in the prettiest package of THIS!

Can you believe I’ve never been to Napa? We’ve been meaning to go for years, but then the kids came and…well, maybe in a few more years. It’s a little dream of mine – love the attainable ones, don’t you?

Visit Swanson Vineyards HERE, as well as their fantastic blog about Napa: Alexis’ Napa.

And speaking of wine – I’m part of a group called The Clever Girls 1000 and we’re currently launching The Clever Girl’s Wine Club. I’ll be announcing discounts on wines as they are released (every two to four weeks) and will try to post reviews as well. Check out the current listings and let me know what you think. I’m placing my own order now…

Are You on My Wish List?

After almost a year, I’ve FINALLY added a blog roll – or reading list – or wish list…

But the question is – are YOU on it?

That’s just a partial image (see my sidebar for the full list).

Since I did it all at once, I’m sure I left some out. So I’ll be adding more in upcoming weeks.

But please let me know if you’re missing. It will save me some time – and alert me to your site if I don’t know it.

Want to exchange links? Just e-mail me at katewishingtrue@gmail.com. And if you see that you’re on my list, I’d love it if you’d add me to yours.

Happy Monday!

Discount on blog headers, graphics and buttons!

Do you like my header and button?

Do you love Annechovie?

Do you want to know who “Anne” is? If so, go here and don’t come back one second before you bask in the glow of her talent and eye for art and design.

Now that everyone is back with us, I wanted to plug Elisabeth of Salt Life Designs.

When I was thinking that it was time to give Wishing True a little face lift, I happened upon the Salt Life Etsy shop and fell in love with one of the headers for sale. Instead of just buying it though, I inquired about custom designs.

I can’t even begin to describe what a great experience it was working with Elisabeth. She is so talented, lovely and PATIENT (seriously – how many times can one blogger vacillate about a shade of pink before their designer books a flight up to DC to murder them?)

I was also thrilled with the price tag, AND I just heard that all Annechovie readers will receive a 20% discount through September 14.

Time to ditch the Blogger fonts, and feed your champagne design tastes for the price of “whatever’s on tap.”

Am I Beautiful or What?!

I am officially on blog hiatus (my posts through next week have been set up in advance), but I had to thank my fabulous designer, Elisabeth of Salt Life Designs (she’s Anne Harwell’s sister, so you may have seen her featured on Annechovie) for my gorgeous new header and button! The header is a series of china patterns that I love. Several of which I considered when registering for my wedding. I have always loved beautiful china and I took this task VERY seriously. I almost passed out in Michael C. Fina from the stress. And I’m only half kidding.

My button features the pattern I selected for my dessert plates. As much as I loved it, I thought it was a bit busy for a dinner plates, and while I was looking for a more simple dinner plate I realized that my top choices were not Limoges. Which means that they were more cream colored while my beautiful dessert plates were more of a blue white. I have a memory of holding two cream colored dinner plates while the room spun around me.

If you are thinking I sound like a lunatic, you can commiserate with my husband. He lasted MAYBE ten minutes before refusing to have anything to do with me until we left.

Don’t worry – it all worked out in the end. I selected a lovely Limoges pattern for the dinner plates that just happens to be the exact same china pattern that my mother has. It was discontinued for years, but was only JUST picked up again by Mottahedeh the year I got engaged. It was meant to be. For me. Not so much for Chris. He was just happy that he didn’t have to listen to me hyperventilate over yellow versus blue undertones in china.

But enough about my fond Bridezilla memories! Grab a button already…

…and tell all of your friends about Salt Life Designs. If my china pattern angst gives you a clue as to what kind of design client I am, you can just imagine what a saint she is. I couldn’t be happier.
